Our story

G'day, I'm Damien, founder of Brisbane Grounds Co.

I've always had a soft spot for a great lawn. Some people notice cars or architecture; I notice the edges on a nature strip, whether a hedge has been cut square, and whether a garden bed has been properly looked after or just tidied up. So when I started the business in 2010, it wasn't just about starting a business. It was about doing something I genuinely cared about, and doing it properly.

Like most good things, we started small: one ute and trailer, a mower, and a handful of residential clients around Moreton Bay and the North Brisbane area. Those early customers gave us our start, and many of them stuck with us for years. They taught us something that still guides everything we do: people don't just want their grass cut. They want to come home, or turn up to work, and feel proud of what they see.

Word got around. One property manager saw our work on a neighbour's place and asked if we'd take on a small commercial site. That turned into another, and then another. Before long we were maintaining industrial estates, business parks and commercial properties across North Brisbane and South East Queensland, and the business grew along with them.

Our tagline, Brisbane Properties. Better Together., is about the way we like to work: long-term relationships with owners, property managers and body corporates, where we get to know each site and look after it properly year after year.

Today we focus on three areas

We've grown a lot since 2010, but the fundamentals haven't changed. I still believe a well-kept lawn and garden says something about the people who own it, and I still look at every job as if it's my own front yard. We turn up when we say we will, communicate clearly, and take pride in the details that other crews tend to miss.
