The challenge
The business park's previous grounds contractor retired, so the site manager needed a new team to take over the grounds and keep a premium site looking the part.
In a business park, presentation is constant: tenants, staff and visitors use the car parks and walkways every day, and loose debris or litter is noticed straight away.
Setting the standard
When we took over, our first visits set the standard for the site:
- gardens cleaned out. See garden maintenance
- hedges trimmed to their optimum height. See hedge trimming and pruning
- lawns mowed and edges trimmed. See lawn mowing
Visits several times a week
From there, we moved the business park onto a program of visits several times a week, each looking after a different part of the site:
- car parks and walkways kept clean, tidy and clear of debris
- the whole site kept free of litter
- lawn mowing and edging every week
- regular garden maintenance, with hedges kept at the height set at handover
